I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.

I'm over at The Green Phone Booth today with a tribute to Dr. Seuss.

Yesterday was Dr. Seuss' birthday, and what kind of environmentalist would I be if I didn't mention his classic book, The Lorax? In the words of the great Dr. Seuss:

Way back in the days when the grass was still green
and the pond was still wet
and the clouds were still clean,
and the song of the Swomee-Swans rang out in space...
one morning, I came to this glorious place.
And I first saw the trees!
The Truffula Trees!
The bright-colored tufts of the Truffula Trees!
Mile after mile in the fresh morning breeze.

I adore Dr. Seuss and that story, it's still so appropriate. I love how you incorporated it into your post.
Thanks for another thoughtful post!
