I'm sick...Screw the planet!

Anyone else feel this way?

Thankfully none of us have gotten the flu yet. But I've had a cold for four weeks and it sucks.

Today I forgot to eat breakfast (you can tell I'm sick - when have I ever forgotten breakfast?). I didn't remember until we were already out and about, and I just felt like, "Screw the planet. I'm going to Starbucks."

Here was my order, in all it's lovely overpriced trash-filled glory:

I think we all have days like this.

Yup, we all have days like these! Feel better.

I think this happens to everyone. And I often don't even have the excuse that I'm sick. As long as we get back into good habits, I don't think it's a big deal. Right?

Hope you're feeling better soon!a

Oh, do get better soon!

Okay, spill--what was in those Starbucks cups? Let us swoon vicariously...was there an eggnog latte in one? (God, I love those...) Did you do what I always do, which is ask for skim milk and then say "yes" to the whipped cream?

Erin aka Conscious Shopper November 6, 2009 at 7:56 PM

Thanks, everyone! So good to know I'm not alone!

@Jenn - Actually, I don't drink coffee, so there was a caramel apple spice for me and kid hot cocoas for the two that were with me. And I had a slice of banana bread. And then the kiddos insisted that they needed to drink their cocoa with a straw, which the youngest kiddo has not mastered yet. So there was a minor spill and a few napkins. But you can pretend there was an eggnog latte, if you want. :)

Ooh, the caramel apple is almost as good. I live for eggnog, though--it's my biggest holiday season downfall. (Wait...did I just say "holiday season" on November 6? Oy...) Every winter I switch back to making coffee JUST so I can put eggnog into it in place of cream. It's tragic, really. :-) (Although, on the other hand, it keeps me away from Dunkin Donuts. Starbuck I can resist; DD just gets me every time.)

Gah! Now I want to go get a drink from there. D: But I can't because I actually DO have the flu. And likely of the piggy variety. (They're not even testing for it anymore.) Bleah.

Erin - I'm sorry to hear you're feeling bad. I completely understand your weakness. I think it's ok to treat ourselves occasionally, especially when feeling under the weather. It's when it becomes a daily habit for everyone when it's a problem. Hope you're on the mend.

hey, I feel your pain! Hope you feel better soon.

I just LOVE that you're honest and not self-righteous! There are others who just wouldn't 'fess up! :)

Erin aka Conscious Shopper December 11, 2009 at 9:59 PM

@Stephany - Oh no, I can't be self-righteous. I have so many shortcomings, but I do try!
